Managing Director
Brad is a familiar face on the Cleveland economic development scene. He founded and subsequently led the Fund for Our Economic Future for over 16 years. Brad was involved in the startup and development of many of the regional intermediaries guiding inclusive economic development activities today including Team NEO, JumpStart, MAGNET and the Minority Business Accelerator. While at the Fund, he was a vocal proponent of core city redevelopment, smart growth, and economic inclusion. He was active in the aggregation of land adjacent to the Opportunity Corridor and the planning for its use. Brad stepped down as President of the Fund for Our Economic Future in 2020 and worked with the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program as a nonresident senior fellow on economic development projects across the United States. He also remained active on economic development and business growth projects throughout Northeast Ohio, including extensive work with Mayor Bibb and his team on a variety of economic development and American Rescue Plan issues.
Brad spent the first part of his career with McKinsey & Company, where he was ultimately elected a senior partner. Brad’s twenty-year career spanned many practice areas including banking, environmental sustainability, and business growth for a broad range of organizations in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America including large corporations, principal investment firms, and nongovernmental organizations. After leaving McKinsey, Brad has remained involved with the Firm as a leader of several of its training programs for new partners and rising associates.
Brad has also lived and worked in central Africa as well as the Brazilian Amazon. He has a bachelor's degree in economics, and a Master of Public Administration, both from Harvard University.
Brad can be found most mornings along the Cuyahoga River, where he is an active – some would say fanatical -rower. Brad maintains an executive coaching practice and is involved in a number of civic organizations. He enjoys meeting and mentoring next generation civic leaders. Brad is married to Amy, a local psychotherapist (a useful skill for being married to Brad). They have four grown children, a granddaughter, and a kooky dog.
