Senior Level Executive Professional
Orlando O. Grant serves as the Manager of Engagement at the Site Readiness Fund and the Director of the EDA Recompete Grant. In this capacity, he collaborates closely with the Cleveland Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund Team, the City of Cleveland, and the Cuyahoga County Land Bank to develop and implement a strategy that integrates land use with growth initiatives in community development. As the Director of the Recompete Grant, he leads efforts to leverage prior investments toward fostering inclusive growth in neighborhoods surrounding the Opportunity Corridor. This initiative, funded by a $500,000 strategy development grant from the Economic Development Administration, aims to repurpose vacant or underused industrial land on the near east side of Cleveland, ultimately generating 8,750 jobs and enhancing job access for 2,500 residents.
With a robust background in program development, implementation, evaluation, and fundraising, Orlando brings invaluable expertise to his roles. A dedicated resident of northeast Ohio, Orlando earned his Bachelor's degree in Business & Organizational Communication with a Minor in Public Relations from The University of Akron. He furthered his education with a Master's degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, with a specialization in Non-Profit Management.
Orlando's leadership journey, marked by a blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience, has led him to executive-level positions, where he has successfully raised millions of dollars and made a profound impact on thousands of lives. His commitment to philanthropy is evidenced by his service on the Boards of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc., Accessible Housing, St. Clair House, and his current role as Board Chairman of The BLO Foundation, where he actively addresses pressing societal challenges. Under his leadership at The BLO Foundation, Orlando spearheaded initiatives to provide a refurbished home to a homeless family, valued at an estimated $200,000.
An alumnus of Leadership Cleveland and Leadership Lorain County, Orlando's dedication to northeast Ohio extends beyond his professional endeavors.
Outside of his professional and community engagements, Orlando cherishes time spent with his daughter, Brianna Grant, who is pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. His personal interests include travel, outdoor activities, and unwavering support for his favorite sports team, the Cleveland Browns.
